Safety Accolade for Power Jacks

Safety Accolade for Power Jacks

Leading manufacturer of linear motion and mechanical power transmission equipment, Power Jacks, has received formal industry acknowledgment of its operational safety performance.

The business – based in Ellon, Scotland – has been presented with a Safety Award by the support and lobbying organisation Scottish Engineering, which boasts around 400 member companies across the country covering all sectors of the manufacturing industry.

Power Jacks’ HR and Training Manager Hazel Cummine accepted the award on behalf of the company during a visit by John Thomson of Scottish Engineering.

“We were delighted to receive this recognition of the excellent safety performance achieved across our operations in 2010, when we recorded no lost time accidents,” she says.

“We place enormous emphasis upon safety in everything we do, and it will always remain at the top of our operational agenda.

“The award is first and foremost a tribute to the efforts of our workforce, who deliver consistently excellent results for our customers in a working environment shaped by safety and quality considerations.”

Power Jacks is a member company of Scottish Engineering, a non-profit making organisation. The business relocated its operations to new purpose-built facilities in Ellon earlier this year, to support its growth objectives. The new premises feature a manufacturing and assembly facility with associated warehousing, and office space to accommodate the design and production engineering, sales, marketing and administration functions.

In recent months the company has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.
