Painter required to prepare & paint precision products at our busy facility in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.

Overview

Working as a painter as part of the fast-paced assembly team within the factory workshop, preparing and painting Power Jacks precision actuation and power transmission products. When not painting carry out general assembly and factory tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that components are properly cleaned/prepared, and as necessary masked, prior to painting
  • Uses differing paint application techniques as required
  • Prioritises work-load in accordance with schedules / instruction
  • Monitors stock levels of paints and thinners ensuring adequate stocks are maintained
  • Completing company documents / job sheets, etc as appropriate.
  • Maintains record of paint booth cleaning and filter changes
  • Reports any operational difficulties with components, painting equipment, PPE and / or finish applications
  • Perform shot blasting operations as required
  • Can be assigned to assembly area for the building of standard product depending on production demands. Training provided where required.
  • Can be assigned to any area within factory (production, materials, etc) carrying out general tasks, such as fettling, packing goods, cleaning, sweeping up, general labouring, moving raw materials and goods using trolleys and/or fork trucks as required, deliveries and collections by company vehicle if required.
  • Any other general or associated tasks as required, which operator has been trained to do and which complies with company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Manually handles materials, components and equipment safely and in accordance with relevant Health and Safety policies and procedure
  • Ensures that work environment is kept clean and tidy and that materials, tools and consumables are safely and correctly stored and easily accessible as per 5S standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous painting experience, and able to produce work of a high quality
  • Candidates should be able to work in a busy environment, have excellent communication skills, have a flexible approach to work be reliable and be able to work on in a team or on their own initiative.
  • Positively receptive to change and taking on other tasks/machines/methods/procedures
  • Ability to learn new skills, showing willingness and effort to do this.
  • Good planning and organising skills
  • Basic level of computer literacy
  • Some mechanical / assembly / engineering experience would be beneficial
  • Focus on quality and right first time production
  • Great safety compliance and engagement.
